FirstBank Names Tim Douglas Nashville City President

JUNE 01, 2016

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 25, 2016) – Tim Douglas, a Nashville native with broad experience in the financial services, health care, and manufacturing/distribution industries, has been named FirstBank’s Nashville city president. He will be responsible for overseeing the Nashville-area market and managing branch operations for FirstBank.

“Our tremendous success in the Nashville area has driven the need to expand our leadership team. Tim is a proven leader with deep ties to Nashville,” said FirstBank Middle Tennessee President Allen Oakley. “As city president, Tim’s business acumen and experience further position FirstBank as a trusted adviser to businesses and business owners.”

Douglas began his career in New York as a money broker for Euro Brokers Harlow and then joined Bankers Trust Co. as a bond and money market securities sales executive. He returned to Nashville to serve for 10 years as vice president of Nelson Capital Corp., a diversified merchant banking firm.

In 1995, he became owner, president and CEO of Nashville-based Can-Do National Tape, a distributor of adhesive products and fabricator of parts for the appliance, automotive and medical industries. In 2008, he managed the sale of the company to an Atlanta-based private equity firm.

Prior to joining FirstBank, Douglas served in executive positions with Covenant Surgical Partners and Community Care Solutions, and as a partner with Anderson Benson Insurance and Risk Management.

Douglas has been actively involved in the Nashville community, serving as a Forest Hills city commissioner, on the zoning appeals boards of Forest Hills and Belle Meade, and as chairman of the Nashville Business Incubation Center. He founded the Boulevard Bolt, the Thanksgiving Day running event that benefits the city’s homeless population, is a past president of Belle Meade Country Club and is a board member of the Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood Association.

“FirstBank is ideally positioned to expand our Nashville presence, and the bank’s community banking approach should facilitate strategic growth,” Douglas said. “I look forward to working with our team of relationship managers and to expanding FirstBank’s reach in the Nashville market, as well as representing the bank in the community.”

Douglas is a graduate of the Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, and received his B.S. Engineering degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He was awarded an M.A. degree in international commerce from The Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky, and he earned his accounting certificate from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
