The leaders of FB Financial have picked a Butler Snow partner to succeed longtime exec Will Martin as general counsel of the bank holding company.
Beth Sims has been with Butler Snow since mid-2012, when she joined with more than three dozen of her peers from the then-imploding Nashville office of Miller & Martin. Sims was head of Butler Snow’s securities team and focused on securities laws, banking and mergers and acquisitions.
“Beth Sims is among the most highly respected corporate and securities lawyers in Tennessee, and we are proud to be able to attract someone with her experience, expertise and leadership skills to be our new general counsel,” FirstBank President and CEO Chris Holmes said in a statement. “This is an extremely important position, and Beth is pre-eminently qualified to fill that role.”
Martin, who joined FirstBank and its parent organization in 2007, retired last month. During his tenure, FirstBank built its Nashville presence in a major way, grew through a number of acquisitions and went public two and a half years ago.
“I’m looking forward to working with a banking organization that has the reputation of FirstBank and has such an established record of success,” Sims said. “I am truly excited about the opportunity to contribute to its future growth.”
