FirstBank Strengthens Commercial Banking Teams in Knoxville and Nashville with Three New Hires

Jerry Greene, Nathan Copeland and Stuart Hunter join under Jim Mosby’s leadership

NASHVILLE/KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2024) – FirstBank today announced that Jerry Greene, Nathan Copeland and Stuart Hunter have joined the commercial banking team and will serve alongside Commercial Banking President Jim Mosby. Greene and Copeland are based out of the bank’s Knoxville office, and Hunter is in Nashville.

“Each of these individuals brings a wealth of knowledge and decades of experience to our commercial banking team and will contribute greatly to our business clients in Middle and East Tennessee,” said Mosby.

With over 30 years of commercial banking experience, Greene will serve as Senior Vice President and Commercial Banking Team Leader on the Knoxville team. In his new role, Greene will lead initiatives in East Tennessee and further establish FirstBank as a leader in commercial banking. Prior to joining FirstBank, he served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking at Fifth Third Bank. Greene graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a bachelor’s in economics. Originally from Bristol, Tennessee, he has become an active member of the Knoxville community and currently serves as President of the Board for the Joy of Music School. Greene is married to his high-school sweetheart, and they have two daughters and a granddaughter. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy traveling, exercising and playing music.

Also in Knoxville, Copeland will serve as Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, where he will grow FirstBank’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) portfolio. A veteran banker with over 19 years of financial services experience, Copeland most recently served as Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager at Fifth Third Bank. He received his B.B.A. in Management from East Tennessee State University. Copeland has resided in Knoxville for the past 18 years and is actively involved with theKnoxville Area Urban League, Habitat for Humanity and Volunteer Ministry Center. In his free time, Copeland enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. 

Joining Nashville’s commercial banking team is Stuart Hunter, who will serve as Vice President and Relationship Manager, and will focus on managing a portfolio of commercial banking relationships. With over 17 years of experience, Hunter most recently served as Vice President at Medquity. He moved to Nashville 17 years ago after graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a B.A. in Public Administration and Economics. Hunter is committed to Nashville’s business community and is involved with the Nashville Healthcare Council and Leadership Healthcare. His family of five currently reside in Brentwood and are all active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
