Community bank adds two strategic hires to its newest Knoxville location opening in October

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2023)— Nashville-based FirstBank today announced Patrick McMahon and Shirley Schady will join its Knoxville team at the Emory Road branch location set to open in October 2023.

“As FirstBank continues to grow its footprint throughout East Tennessee, we are excited to welcome Patrick and Shirley to our newest branch on Emory Road,” said Brent Ball, FirstBank’s Knoxville Market President. “Both of these individuals bring years of experience and both live in the market. I am confident their invaluable knowledge will contribute greatly to FirstBank’s success.”

McMahon will serve as FirstBank’s Financial Center Manager, and he will be responsible for managing the Emory Road branch in Powell, Tennessee. In this role, McMahon will help lead the team in acquiring new businesses and clients. Prior to joining FirstBank, McMahon most recently served as Senior Relationship Banker at First Horizon Bank.

“I was drawn to work at FirstBank once I saw their unwavering commitment to serving local communities,” said McMahon. “I look forward to building great relationships with my team and our clients, and I hope our work makes banking better within the greater Knoxville area.”

McMahon grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to Knoxville in 2016. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and was the captain of the university’s baseball team. An active member in the community, McMahon is currently involved in the Cumberland Avenue Merchants Association. In his free time, McMahon enjoys spending time with his two daughters.

As a veteran banker with over 26 years of experience, Schady will serve as a banker in FirstBank’s new branch. In this role, Schady will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships throughout the community. Schady most recently served as a Relationship Banker at the Halls branch of First Horizon Bank.

“I am thrilled to join FirstBank and be a driving force alongside our team at the new Emory Road location,” said Schady. “The personal ties I have to the Knoxville community, paired with nearly three decades of experience working in this industry will help me to further FirstBank’s personalized, local approach to banking.”

Schady was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and moved to Powell in 1990. She is a Life Licensed/Insurance Producer and has her Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS License). Aside from her career, Schady enjoys cooking, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her two children and 11 grandchildren.
