Beth Sims
General Counsel

Beth Sims brings a depth of experience to her position as FirstBank’s general counsel. She is responsible for managing the bank’s legal functions, serving as a liaison with outside counsel, and advising senior management on effective company strategies and implementation.

Prior to joining FirstBank, Beth served as a partner at Butler Snow LLP and chairwoman of the firm’s securities team. She has been practicing law in the state of Tennessee since 2006 and concentrates her practice on securities law, banking, and mergers and acquisitions.

Beth was named a Mid-South Rising Star in banking by Super Lawyers®* and routinely counsels public and private financial institutions on a variety of corporate and securities issues, including corporate governance, public company disclosure and mergers.

She is a graduate of The College of Wooster, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and the University of Tennessee, where she earned her juris doctorate. In law school, Beth was a member of the Order of the Coif and served on the Tennessee Law Review.

Beth is married with two children.
